My name is Robert Tippett. I’m grateful to be here at Santa Sophia Academy, serving God by doing what I love.
I grew up in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts where I attended St. Matthew School and Classical High School (Dr. Seuss’ alma mater). I joined the Navy at 17. Initially, I served as a signalman, later as a military police officer, and finally as a drug and alcohol counselor and counseling-school instructor. After retiring from the military and earning my degree in English in 2003, I spent more than 20 years teaching English at high schools and middle schools in Sacramento, Placer, Monterey, and Santa Clara Counties, and more recently in San Diego County. I’ve found there is always something new to learn about the English language, and each day I am excited to share what I have learned with our students. I am proud of being part of this team at Santa Sophia which, I am so happy to see, shines brightly like the gospel of St. Matthew’s city on a hill!
